About
This blog was used to examine online journalism as an emerging field and its impacts on the roles and job descriptions of today’s journalists while I was a student at Whitworth University. It sought to explore the expectations of today’s journalists, the differences between reporting for online versus print publications, and the strengths and challenges of the way reporters are processing and delivering information today.
As a recent journalism graduate and now the managing editor of two weeklies in Northwest Montana, I recognize the growing importance of providing news and information in various online formats and of understanding what that means for me as a journalist.
From September through December 2008, I embarked on an independent study of online journalism as it relates to the role of today’s reporters and used this blog to share what I learned with others. The result was a paper available in PDF form here.
